Hi. Welcome back.
I was talking with my friend last night about Salvation, church, Jesus and all that when an analogy came up. Our main bone of contention was the importance of going to church. I'll skip all the small talk and delve into the meat of the conversation.
I said to him, "look at this huge refuse bin. It probably has baby diapers, dog feces, rotten food, dirt, and all the rubbish that could possibly be in a trash can this size." He nodded in agreement. I went on to ask, "if you were sure for a fact that there was a million dollars underneath all of that mess, would you reach in and take it?"
Hehe. His response was hilarious!

He gave me this elaborate explanation of how he would cover his hand with a plastic bag, a bag so big it would reach up to his shoulders, and go right into the bin. The excitement on his face was... It was as if the money was ACTUALLY THERE!!!
Then I asked him, "what if it was just one dollar?" The large smile that lit his face was now extinguished. It was as if I had taken candy from a child - one in his mid-thirties. He wasn't just unhappy; he seemed enraged! "Nah nah. Leh it go" was his reply. And our conversation continued.
What I got from him last night after a lengthy conversation was something that struck me. We are willing to go to the "depths of hell" and back for the earthly pleasures, but not to lift a finger for the things that concern our salvation. Come to think of it, I blogged about church once. 😊

If you value your soul much more than you value anything else, you will live a saintly life.
What would you do for a saved soul?
