Everybody values something more than the other. It's the normal order of things. No two things will ever be EXACTLY of the same importance to you. Why? When the value of food is equal to the value of going to the beach, one day, you'll starve!
We've developed a need for prioritization because without them, we would live haphazardly and inefficiently. If we never employed weighting, a typical day might proceed in total mayhem.

Basically, all the things we know now to be trivial might find their way to the very top of our to-do lists. Eating, praying, taking a bath, BRUSHING YOUR TEETH, would be pushed away for later. Fortunately, we are able with foresight to weigh the consequences of every action and inaction and prioritize accordingly what we want to do.
This is one of man's earliest skills, yet one of the most poorly developed.
In Biblical times, it was simpler - not necessarily easier, though - to get your head straight. There were two major "needs" of man: to serve a higher being who could either lay claim to his life or at least make it less difficult, and to find sustenance. Most of what we did back then was worship and find food. Entire civilizations were built around places with an abundance of food. Of course, all of these would mean nothing to us if we weren't sure of the safety of our loved ones. That system worked for centuries.
As time went by, man's curiosity increased. We discovered more, created more, and explored more. The things that once caught our fancy were at the very least used as tools for a "higher cause" or, at most, completely forgotten.
Gradually, rather than build on what we already knew to be true, we lost the foundation of what was important. God became a myth; love, for the weak; and food for pleasure.
The only thing that mattered was ourselves. As a result, we became selfish, ambitious, deceitful,
arrogant, assertive and vengeful,
blasphemous, lascivious, and dreadful.
We went the whole nine yards to prove we had dominion over the earth, and in doing so, lost our very right to rule. Rather than being masters of this world we were mastered by sin. You would think that since the Son of God walked the face of earth we would at least turn back to Truth and right living, but NO. In our little created minds we are far too important to obey and serve; for if we make machines that do our bidding, then we ourselves are creators to be worshipped.
It doesn't get any more blasphemous than that!
The Bible is very clear on what should be our most important duty as Christians: seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness... (Matthew 6:33).
If your day doesn't start with prayer and Bible Study, and continue with a mindfulness of God, something is wrong somewhere.

Be sure that the book of the Law is always read in your worship. Study it day and night, and make sure that you obey everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
