"It's my life, and I'll live it the way I like" is a lie from the deepest and darkest part of hell.
You were bought AND PAID FOR with the precious blood of Christ. For it is written: "you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies" - 1 Corinthians 6:20.
Your life is whatever He says it is.
It is therefore fitting that we submit ourselves to Him; He who has not called us to be servants, but friends and coheirs to his kingdom in heaven. All we have to do is love (John 15:12-17).
Live then by the law of God: the law of Love, not by whatever you decide is fitting.
For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. - Galatians 5:17.
In case you didn't know, every waking moment of your life is a battle between good and evil. Now, you can choose to stay oblivious to the fact, or you can step in and step up your game.
The only weapon you have is the word of God.
Pick up your Bible.
Read John chapter 3; and if that's all you read today, I'm glad all the same.
Meditate on it.
In it you'll find the summary of the Gospel of Truth.
Wield that word and you'll find strength for your soul.
Selah.
