The other day I was pondering on a few things, and a simple thought came to my mind. Before too long, it became a conversation. Then, it was an argument! Lolx. I started an argument with myself in my own head about a question that seems very stupid at first:
"What is real?"
Study philosophy books and teachings of great philosophers and you'll see that this is no ordinary question. Approaching it analytically or philosophically will only generate more questions.
How do you define reality? Can one person define what 'should be real' to another? Can one person's reality be abstract to another person?... The questions go on and on.
Directly speaking, Absolute Reality exists! But what is real to us right now, is Dynamic.
What is the difference?
In the Bible, God says:
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
This verse applies to everyone on Earth. God's all-encompassing and unconditional love is real. It is not dependent on your merits or qualifications. In fact, it existed even before you were born and was applied to you from the very first few seconds of your conception.
God wants each and every person in this world to be hale and hearty; both physically, and spiritually. This is our Absolute Reality - our 'Ideal' state of being.
BUT... We all have free will. This means that we can either express this ideal state that we are destined for, or alter our destinies. Yes! We very well have the power to change our destinies from good to bad - and we do that almost every single day of our lives unknowingly.
Jesus is still Lord and Ruler of us all. A large part of your reality, however, depends on thoughts, words, and actions: these things which are in the control of your own free will. This is why two people are able to experience the same event and have very different opinions about it; we don't all think alike.
Thoughts are like stray dogs - the ones you feed will keep coming back to you. Spend time with good thoughts, and drive out the bad ones as soon as they come. Actions are mostly the products of your thoughts. Try, however, to give yourself 5 - 10 seconds before you respond to any situation. This way, you delete mindless impulsive reactions and act more appropriately and Christian.
Many times, the right response will be silence and a big smile. :)
Your words shape your destiny the most. What you say has creative power, for you were created in the image and likeness of God; He who, through His Word alone, created the whole world out of nothing!
How much more power will your words have when you speak the Word of God over your life?
The more you study your Bible, the more you'll know the Word of God and learn about this Absolute Reality that you were made to express. As much as you begin to watch what you say, you must learn to watch how you say it.
"'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes." - Mark 9:23.
Now, it's completely up to you.
What things are you going to make real in your life this morning?
See you tomorrow. :D
